Innovation in Action: Recapping Our Rubi Tools Showroom Event

At Home Tile Center, we believe that staying ahead of the curve means getting the best tools into the hands of the best installers. March 17, our showroom was buzzing with energy as we hosted a special hands-on demonstration featuring Chris Griffin, Regional Account Manager for Rubi Tools.

From seasoned contractors to our own in-store staff, everyone walked away with new insights into how modern tool technology is making tile installation faster, cleaner, and more precise.

The highlight of the day was seeing Rubi’s 2026 lineup in action. Chris provided deep-dive demonstrations on the tools that are currently redefining the industry:

• The TZ Manual Cutter: We saw firsthand why this is called the "powerhouse" of manual cutters. Chris demonstrated its 3,300 lbs of breaking force, easily snapping through thick porcelain that typically requires an electric saw.
• The Pro Edger: a professional-grade attachment designed for intensive dry bevelling and mitering of large-format tiles, porcelain, and natural stone.
• Large Format Solutions: As tiles continue to get bigger, the SLAB SYSTEM and TC-125 G2 battery-powered circular cutters took center stage. Chris showed the precision required to handle 6mm thin panels without the risk of cracking.
• The Future is Cordless: The new TC-125 CAS circular cutter proved that you no longer have to sacrifice power for portability on the job site.

More Than Just a Demo: Real Answers for Real Pros

What made this event special wasn't just the tools—it was the conversation. Chris spent a significant portion of the afternoon taking "hot seat" questions from local contractors and our team.

We covered everything from scoring wheel maintenance (did you know a dull wheel is the #1 cause of jagged edges?) to the best diamond blade selection for high-gloss versus textured surfaces. It’s this kind of technical exchange that helps our local pros deliver better results for their clients.

No Home Tile Center event is complete without a bit of fun. Chris made sure no one left empty-handed, handing out a mountain of Rubi gear. From custom hats and shirts to essential field tools like bubble levels, carpenter’s pencils, and pens, the "Rubi Red" was everywhere.

More importantly, it was a great day of networking. Seeing local installers sharing tips over a cup of coffee while testing out a new rail saw is exactly why we love hosting these events.
