Run for Vets - 5k & 10k Fun Run

Run for Vets Event Rundown
This past weekend, despite gray clouds and steady drizzle, runners of all ages and skill levels laced up their shoes for Run for Vets, an uplifting 5K and 10K fun run proudly hosted by Home Tile Center in partnership with Laticrete. What began as a community fitness event quickly turned into a powerful show of support for the Wounded Warrior Project, bringing people together to honor and assist wounded veterans.

Before the race kicked off, participants were welcomed with an impressive spread provided by Home Tile Center—everything from pre-workout beverages and protein shakes to energizing snacks and breakfast favorites. The perfect fuel for runners preparing to take on the miles ahead. Meanwhile, Laticrete added to the excitement by generously providing freebies for all participants, giving everyone a little extra motivation to get moving.

The event course led runners through a route stretching out to the East River and the iconic Queensboro Bridge before looping back to Home Tile Center. The 5K runners completed one lap, while more experienced participants continued on to finish the full 10K by completing a second lap. Even with cloudy and gloomy skies, the runners' energy kept spirits high.

What truly set this event apart was its mission: raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. Thanks to the dedication of our runners, volunteers, and donors—and with Home Tile Center’s dollar-for-dollar matching of all contributions—we reached our fundraising goal. The turnout was inspiring, proving that a little rain was no match for a community united in support of veterans.
Though the skies were gloomy, the atmosphere was anything but. The smiles, encouragement, and camaraderie shared throughout the event made it clear that everyone was there for more than just the miles. Participants celebrated together after crossing the finish line, refueling with more snacks and breakfast bites, swapping stories, and enjoying the sense of accomplishment that comes from doing something meaningful.
Run for Vets was more than a run—it was a celebration of community resilience, gratitude, and generosity. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to every runner, supporter, and partner who made this event possible. With your help, we made a tangible impact for our veterans and enjoyed an unforgettable day in the process. Here’s to many more miles and missions ahead!
